    34. Please add any other input you would like to give us. If you didn't have enough room or the right choices above, please add them here. Thank you.

  • While I enjoy the INDC programs and have found many of them very informative, it can be a challenge to attend a membership meeting in its entirety. That's a big chunk of the workday.
  • I think meeting once a month would be great. A breakfast meeting is a nice idea. Lunch would be good too. A format that's used by many groups is (1)networking time, (2) eat, (3)program. I think the meetings are too long for most people. It's easier to have a meeting that's an hour or an hour and a half. One speaker per meeting. No Friday meetings please. I think the topics are a bit too specific. Broader topics that would apply to the majority of the audience I think would attract more people to the meetings. Volunteer management & recruitment, management skills in general, interviewing and hiring 101, marketing & PR, creative fundraising strategies, capital campaigns 101, image branding, website developement 101, technology for non-profits 101, fundraising event management, grantwriting 101, what are other non-profits in the community doing?(sharing creative approaches...people who think outside of the box), building partnerships & helping each other, business/charity partnerships, board management, I think any topics that would help us to think outside of the box and help us look at what we're doing in a new way would be helpful. Also, speakers that have a motivational aspect would be nice occasionally. Location, central (downtown) would be good. Find a location and have all meetings at the same place on the same day each month. That will help people to remember when and where. You might get a better price for meals if they know you'll be there every month.
  • Thank you for asking for input. I am unable to attend most meetings due to the recent choice of the Casino. My schedule does not permit the two-way drive coupled with the lunch time. This choice has not respected the schedules of funding professionals--a schedule which tends to be daunting. Also, I am not an advocate of gambling; therefore, the Casino choice may be deemed "inappropriate" for myself and others.
  • Encourage looking at opportunities with the Planned Giving Council that could broaden programming for both organizations and allied professionals. Do not feel that Northern Quest serves INDC needs as a meeting place--food, service, room set-up. Time to move on.
  • A newsletter is a nice idea but a lot of work for a busy, working volunteer. If the website could be kept sharp and up to date, with all types of topics ie. listed in question #21, I believe the INDC could achieve the same purpose of education, communication and information without a newsletter. I also believe cost and time need to be seriously considered and the INDC does not have a large amount of extra revenue resources.
  • I hate Northern Quest as a meeting place. As an ex-smoker, I can tell you that their ventilation system doesn't get the job done. I have a headache by the time the meeting is over. Mukogawa is closer to town and smells clean.
